Soft and delicate idiyappam made from roasted rice flour dough, steamed to perfection light, fluffy, and perfect for breakfast or as a side dish.
Ingredients

Rice flour-100g

Hot water-200ml
-
Salt-1g

Banana leaf/Idli mould
Directions
Take a combi pan, add rice flour, insert at Level 1. Set to Air Fry mode, select Sear/Saut? (HI 5) and roast for 5-7 minutes.
Cool slightly and prepare a soft dough using hot water and salt.
Grease idli mould or banana leaf.
Divide dough into 2-3 portions, shape into logs, and load into idiyappam press/murukku maker.
Press directly onto idli mould/banana leaf to form roundels (dough should be warm).
Add 1 cup water to combi pan, place idli stand/banana leaf on crisper tray ( if using banana leaf put these on crisper tray, if using idli moulds avoid using of crisper tray.
Switch to Cooker mode, select Steam for 7 minutes (adjust based on size).
Carefully open the door after cooking to avoid steam burns.
Recipe Note
Ensure dough stays warm while pressing for smooth strands. Handle steam carefully.
