Ingredients
-
Ninja Double Stack XL 9.5L Air Fryer – SL400
-
300g or 1 boneless, chicken breast
Marinade
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp garlic, grated
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- 1/4 tsp red food colouring (optional)
Directions
- In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the char siu marinade.
- Place the boneless chicken in your marinade container, or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, and massage marinade on to chicken, making sure it’s well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors infuse, overnight is always best.
- Remove the marinated chicken from the bag or dish and place in the Double Stack Air Fryer basket.
- Air fry the chicken at 190°C for about 15-18 minutes. Flip halfway through the cooking time. Cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C and is golden brown with a caramelized exterior.
- Once the chicken is done, remove it from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. This helps to retain its juices. Slice the char siu chicken into thin strips.
- Arrange the sliced char siu chicken on a plate. Serve it with steamed rice, noodles, or your choice of side dishes!
Recipe Note
Use the stacked meal racks when you want to cook two layers of food in one drawer. For the best cooking results, we recommend using the Double Stack Pro function when cooking multi-layered food.
